One Proud Mama

Well, Happy Mother's Day to all the ladies out there...even those that don't have any biological children, we as women all nurture other people and deserve to be honoured today!

We had quite the weekend!! Friday night was Lyric's 4th birthday party. She only had a few close friends come over, but when you count the parents and siblings of those friends it adds up to quite a gang :) We had fun though, and only one incident involving blood, so not too bad!

Saturday was crazy with my mom and dad coming down to stay (YAY), and 2 ballet shows in one day. I was glad Lyric didn't need her hair in a bun...bun-making is not my forte and makes me stress out a lot. Gelling Izzy's bangs flat to her head is always good for some guaranteed frustration as well :) We all made it to the theatre in time though and put on a great show for the grandparents and for Daddy! Although he always complains about the 2 1/2 hours of torture he must endure just for the 3 minutes joy he experiences watching his girls on stage. It was so awesome dancing with my 2 girls this year. Izzy has improved so much with her dance and this was Lyric's first year and she LOVED it. I think that girls was born to dance.

Here are my favourite pics from the day:

Here's Lyric my little Lion. She 'danced' to a song from the Lion King. It was absolutely adorable!! Doesn't she make the sweetest little lion? :)

And here's my darlin little ballerina girl, Izzy. Doesn't she look gorgeous? She even has turnout in the picture...I'm such a proud mama!! Being the smallest one in her class she was honoured with being in the centre for much of the dance...she was pretty thrilled about that. This year I actually got to dance in a number with her.

Here's a picture of Jenn, Elizabeth, Izzy and I. We were all in the same dance together (with 3 other little ones) which was really fun! It was such an honour to be able to dance with one of my greatest friends and both our daughters (who are nearly the same age and also very great friends..I love the way they have their arms linked :) So fun!! It also made the hours and hours of waiting in the dressing room tolerable when I had a friend to talk to! Can't wait to see what we'll do next year.

It was so great to have my mom and dad up for a night...I feel like I don't see them very often. I also had the privilege of being able to spend mother's day with both my awesome moms and my family. What a blessing! I am so keenly aware of how blessed I am to have Joel as my husband and three loving little kids that I adore. I treasure these mother's days when I get those sweet little homemade cards and poems from the kids. Before I know it they'll be all growed up :(
Hope you all had a great day too,

Mel
