First is my beloved Grandma N. My only living Grandma, who I have always felt a special bond with since being a young child. I was so blessed to live within 15 minutes (or so) of Grandma's house...so I got to enjoy sleepovers alone with her, as well as being able to see her weekly at church. I also got to see Grandma & Grandpa G. each Sunday at church as well, and we would share meals with them on occasion that were very special. One of our favourite memories there was to ride Grandpa's little tractor, but that wasn't allowed on Sundays. We would often explore the barn and play with the cats and enjoy Grandma's great cooking (both Grandma's were incredible cooks!). Such special memories!
Now that I am older with my own kiddies I am so grateful that they have 4 Grandparents who adore them, that they get to bond with and learn from. Beside that they have one special Big-Grandma (my grandma), and many many adopted Grandma's from the Bartliffs senior ladies coffee group! A large group of ladies who have adopted my kids into their hearts as we have adopted them into ours...what a wonderful blessing they are to us! At least once a week I try to get up to Bartliffs to have coffee with the ladies. I love to sit with them and learn about the people that they know, and they love to share their stories with me as well. When I was younger, a teenager maybe, I always felt uncomfortable around seniors (besides my own Grandparents of course), but now I love to spend time with them and learn from them...they are such a wealth of knowledge and information.
Thank You Lord for all the Grandma's you've blessed our family with!!
