Well, it's hard to believe that the lazy days of summer are nearly half over already!! I have fallen into the daze of summertime; staying up till all hours of the night and sleeping in late (don't think my body is enjoying being off it's schedule though, I still feel tired when I get up!). We've enjoyed 2 family camping trips so far and some good time with friends and family. We are so fortunate to have all of the blessings God has given us as a family and the slower pace of the summer really helps me to slow down and appreciate them so much more :)
We started off our summer with a bang :) We enjoyed a few days at my mom and dad's place on the lake with lots of fishing for the kids and lots of fireworks for us all to enjoy! This year my parents' friends donated a bag of fireworks and the Nafziger/Siebert boys went on a shopping spree at the fireworks tent in town and came home with tonnes of great fireworks!

Here's Jakob & Obi looking at the plethora of explosives :)

My brother Mike showing off the grand finale firework that he purchased...it was awesome!!

Grandpa Nafziger helping Izzy show off her catch, they both look awfully proud :)

Grandpa & Lyric :)

Lyric & her cousin Isaak got along so incredibly well and enjoyed many hours of fishing together!
Our first camping trip was a little bit last-minute; we decided to try out Inverhuron Provincial Park near Tiverton. From my understanding the park was open years ago but was closed because of suspected pollution from the Bruce Nuclear plant (or something like that), the park has been re-opened in the last few years and they are currently expanding it even more. The park was great, we had a beautiful site and the beach was lovely, although small. We only spent a few nights there, but it was a great trip!

Last week we had our annual Siebert/Ramer trip but this year we went to Point Farms Provincial park and we had a great time! The sites weren't as private as we usually enjoy in the provincial parks, but were perfect for a trip with friends when we wanted to be open to their sites. The beach was amazing, but the weather was awful!! In the four years we've camped together I think we have yet to experience a rain-free vacation...ah well, we had fun anyway!

Here are the older girls enjoying the $2 castles we got them at Dollarama; thank goodness for Dollarama on rainy camping trips!!

A sunset from the lake lookout which was steps away from our site at Point Farms; God is one incredible Artist!!
We still have many more trips to look forward to as we enter the 2nd month of summer. I can't believe that in September my kids will all be in school full-time! September and October will also be incredibly busy months for me with my business, so I'm taking full advantage of my time off and resting before life slides back into the fast lane.
Thank you Lord for the slow days of summer!
Melanie
