Back In the Swing of THings

Here's a picture of Izzy's ballet class last year at the recital. Gotta love the costumes !!

Well, life is officially back in full swing this week. Our crazy schedule has begun. With three girls in the family -all of whom take dance lessons on a different day of the week-it's going to be busy, but fun.

The extra-curricular thing has always been tough for me to figure out...I mean, knowing what is best for the kids. We've decided that the kids may take one activity per year. This year Izzy has moved up to Grade One ballet :), Lyric is in a parent & tot class that is SUPER fun (I get to dance with her), and I'm in an adult ballet class. Obi will be playing some hockey on Saturday nights in Blyth. I'm really hoping that he likes it! He's always saying he doesn't want to play hockey, but getting to play with his cousins Andrew & Robert may help to sweeten the deal.

And of course the kiddies are all back to school.
Here's my back to school pictures this year:

Compared to last year's: Notice Obi has a crazy expression both years ;) I can't believe how much Lyric has changed!!

Here is Lyric on her first day of nursery school. She likes it by the way, but she won't admit to it. I'm not sure if it's a three-year-old thing, or just her personality, but she fights everything this year. So each time we head to school she says she doesn't want to go, then when I pick her up, she doesn't want to leave...silly girl.

All growed-up :)

It's amazing how time flies and how much changes in a year. Izzy has really been maturing lately. Her newest thing is going around to all of our bedrooms and making our beds for us. Tonight in the van I said "well, I should give you some money for doing that Izzy" and she surprised me by saying "I didn't do it for the money mom, I did it because it makes me feel good to help other people". Proud mommy moment! She seems to be growing up so quickly. Yet, she has been even more insistent on the snuggles lately (which is just fine with me :) I don't want them growing up TOO quickly.

So there's lots going on, and it feels good to be back in a routine. We are looking ahead to starting up our new church plant at our home (possibly in October). I'm going to Alliston to a doula conference to hear Penny Simkin (psyched about this as well). Lots of great stuff lined up.
