Well, I was planning to blog more about our camping trip, but my mind has been a little pre-occupied with the news lately of the 22 year old hanging out in Huron County wanted for the murder of at least 3 people now. Oh yes, my quiet little area is now swarming with police helicopters as they try to find this psycho that was wanted for murder in Windsor and decided to escape to Huron County. He's been here since at least Saturday night, has stolen a few vehicles, murdered an elderly couple that they found Monday (between Zurich and Exeter), and Joel tells me tonight that the stolen truck was spotted in Blyth this afternoon.
It's been really strange for me to be vigilant at keeping my doors locked during the day and not letting my kids play outside today without me. I hate it, it's awful. Then Joel tells me he's hoping he doesn't get called out for a shooting tonight. This guy is armed and dangerous (and apparently stole guns from the house he killed the couple in as well). Wanted for several murders now I'm pretty sure the guy won't just turn himself in. If and when he does get caught there's going to be an altercation, that's a pretty safe bet. I certainly don't want my husband having to be at the scene to clean up the mess. I'm also not real thrilled with the idea of being home alone all night without my hubby. Of course I was Sunday night too, but didn't know anything about it at that time. It's amazing what fear can do to you. I'm not totally freaking out, but I'm am nervous. I'm just praying they catch this guy soon (and am grateful Joel isn't a cop). I can't understand why this guy has been hanging out in our area for so long, you'd think he'd be running as far as possible.
So, say a prayer that this guy gets caught soon, and brought to justice before anyone else is killed. Pray that no one else gets killed in the process! It's been a rough enough week here. A wonderful man from our church passed away suddenly on Saturday at the age of 55 as well, there's been enough tragedy around here for one week.
Sorry for being so grim.

Pretty scarey! I will pray that your house and family is surrounded by angels. That guy must be really screwed up! I will pray that Joel will not have to deal with the outcomes. I was thinking the guy might be heading up hwy 21, so was watching for the pickup truck he stole...I guess he is driving a car now though. What's the quiet country living coming to??? I read about the Gingerich that died, really sad! Was it a heartattack?
