My Top Picks of Summer So Far

The summer has been awesome so far :) We managed to squeeze a lot of fun into the month of July and are looking forward to Siebert camping and some Bible school in August.

Here are some of my top memories so far:

The Canada day weekend with my family (parents, brother and Sister-in-law with their kids, and us) was an awesome way to kick off the summer. I'm so grateful for each of them and the relationship that we share. It's great to see our kids get along so well too. Our kids love hanging out with their cousins!!

Santa's Village was a blast too! It was nice to hang out as a family and jam as much fun and activity into a 6 or 7 hour span as we could!! Wish it was closer to home because it was a pretty cool place for the kids to hang out.

Spent an evening recently with my dear friend Angelle who is unfortunately moving far away tomorrow :( She brought her karaoke machine along and we had fun singing some Shania Twain tunes. Love you Angelle!! Make sure you keep in touch hon!

And of course, my top memories have to include camping at MacGregor.

Here is a shot I managed to take (while trying hard not to drive off the path and crash my bike :) I just had to capture this moment on film. I know you've all probably heard enough about my love for camping, but these moments topped it off. Riding through the thick lush green woods on perfectly groomed trails, with little bends and hills to keep the kids amused, was amazing. I relished every trip we made on our bikes on these trails. The kids absolutely love it, so we ride along, and I soak in the beauty of the moment and wish I could bottle that peace that I feel in those moments. Having my whole family together, peaceful, surrounded by natural beauty is indescribable to me. It just doesn't get any better than this.

I am homesick for camping. Hopefully my client delivers soon so we can squeeze some more in.

Melanie
