I found on one of the sites I visit frequently: sarahthedoula.blogspot.com, that Vince Vaughn is thinking of doing a movie called "Male Doula". Now this should be good for a laugh. I have to say I get a little nervous thinking of how they may rip apart our profession, but hopefully they treat our profession with respect and just make it hilarious considering it's a MALE being the doula. Should be interesting anyway!

Jason and I went to see 'Childred of Men' when it came out. I was appalled at their portrayal of Midwives (and childbirth in general).
Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of!! I mean, I have a hard time believing they will portray what we actually do. I certainly can't imagine it getting us any MORE business when they see how ridiculous this guy will likely be. I guess the best case scenario is that more people will realize what the heck "doula" means. I taught a prenatal class last night at the health unit. 12 couples, 24 people and not ONE of them knew what a doula was. Crazy!
