Black & White

Last night was an absolutely wonderful evening of fine gourmet food and even finer Jazz music by Change for a Quarter at the Big Brothers and Big Sisters annual fundraiser. Unfortunately we found out it was to be the last one (boo hoo for all the band wives!!!).

The guys were fortunate enough to actually be able to sit and eat the main meal with us. The food was incredible. Here are some examples of what we ate: Miso marinated salmon tartar, Kataifi wrapped pork tenderloin, Crispy potato nest with ratouille of vegetable and Salmon lox with carmelized onion fondue on a crostini (and those were just the appetizers), then was the charred tomato shooter with coriander spiced Sambuca topped with creme fraiche, the roasted fall vegetable strudel with butternut squash puree and then the sorbet to clean the pallet. You're getting the idea! The entree and deserts were fabulous as well. I think what we enjoyed most was watching the older couples dancing to our husbands music.

I even won a prize in the raffle, a one-hour horseback ride at Home on the Range near Londesboro. This was so cool because I've been telling my girlfriend Jenn that we need to go riding sometime, now I have more incentive to actually do it.

It was a super night. I'm sorry to know it was the last of its kind! We certainly enjoyed ourselves,

Melanie
