More Peaceful

Well, indeed the Lord is faithful, just as you all said in your comments. Yesterday God really met with me and I feel completely different now. It was on the way home from a pre-natal appointment with a doula client. I was not wanting to go out last night, I wanted more than anything, to stay home and spend some time with Joel. But I knew I had to have this meeting before I left for Colombia because my client is due Dec. 24th and I didn't want to leave the meeting until December.

The meeting went so well. This is the third birth that I will have the honour of attending with this couple. I think I've talked before about the bond that is formed between myself and clients after sharing such an intimate moment in their lives with them. Then to share that more than once with the same couple is that much better. Anyway, we had a great meeting, and somehow God confirmed to me that being a Doula is part of His plan for me. I have been feeling so guilty about going to Toronto for the doula conference, but now I really feel that it's going to be a great benefit to me and it's all part of God's work for me too. That was part of it.

On the drive home last night I was listening to some praise music (and singing at the top of my lungs), and I had one of those moments. You know the ones, where you can feel God's love in an almost tangible way. Well, it took all of those fears, guilts, etc and lifted them off my shoulders. I'm not naive, I know I'm still going to be nervous and will have a tough time saying goodbye, but the stress and unrest I was feeling is gone.

Our God is amazing isn't He?

Mel :)

ps: thanks to all of you who left comments or e-mailed me for being God's voice of encouragment to me. It meant a lot!
