One of my favourite songs right now is "Beautiful" by Bethany Dillon. I think it speaks the words of every woman's heart on this earth. I absolutely love it. It explains how we are seen through Christ...that we are all beautiful creations, even though we so often doubt it and are insecure about the way we look.

I was so unique
Now I feel skin deep
I count on the make-up to cover it all
Crying myself to sleep cause I cannot keep their attention
I thought I could be strong
But it's killing me
Does someone hear my cry?
I'm dying for new life
[Chorus]
I want to be beautiful
Make you stand in awe
Look inside my heart,
and be amazed
I want to hear you say
Who I am is quite enough
Just want to be worthy of love
And beautiful
Sometimes I wish I was someone other than me
Fighting to make the mirror happy
Trying to find whatever is missing
Won't you help me back to glory
[Chorus]
You make me beautiful
You make me stand in awe
You step inside my heart, and I am amazed
I love to hear You say
Who I am is quite enough
You make me worthy of love and beautiful
I want my girls to grow up knowing and believing in their hearts that they are so beautiful, that God has created them to be "captivating". I hope that I can help them to know that.

You three are all truly beautiful!
Astrid told me the other day that all princesses are skinny. I cringed, knowing that her greatest aspiration is to be princess-like. I pray that she will not grow up feeling the need to conform to some external standard of beauty, weather it's set by Disney (as seems to be the case right now) Hollywood, or fashion magazines.
thanks for this entry!
you are beautiful!
and so are your girls!!
it's hard to remember that, so we need to encourage each other
love ya....and miss you too
