Winter's Last Hurrah (I hope!)

Well, I very depressed when I woke up today and looked outside to see a world of white. Just when the snow was finally disappearing and it came back again :( When I took the kids to the bus stop it was literally gusting and snowing like crazy, we could hardly see. Izzy was asking why it wasn't a snow day (I was praising God that it wasn't :)

I decided to make the most of it though and we all went outside after school to build a snowman. I knew the snow was great packing snow because my stroller wheels were picking up snow like crazy (and getting fatter and fatter as I pushed it). The kids and I had a blast out there making our snow-girl. Complete with a traditional hillbilly hat and smiley face! We were pretty proud of our creation. Unfortunately I looked out the window a couple of hours later to see that some bratty neighbour kids had taken the large stick and speared our little snow-girl through. Why do people have to do things like that?? I just don't understand.

Anyway, here are pictures of our creation:

And the designers:

Lickey-loo all smiles:

And finally a sad little picture of what's left of the quinzhee. The kids still managed to spend almost 45 minutes playing in it. I was joking that it no longer looks like a mountain, but a volcano:

So, that's how we coped with the snow today. We took the lemons and made lemonade :) All in all, it ended up being a pretty good day. But i have to say, the sun and high of 12 fore casted for Wednesday make me MUCH happier :) Here's to spring...starting tomorrow!
