Beauty Days

It's been really hard to blog lately. There are several reasons for this. Most recently it's this beautiful weather. I LOVE the sunshine. I feel like I've really missed it for the past 6 months or so. It's hard to be inside writing on the computer when it's this gorgeous outside! I just want to sit outside all day in the warm sun and soak it all in.

The other reason has been that life still has not slowed down. I thought May might be a little better than April, but what on earth was I thinking? For some reason Spring seems to be one of the busiest time of year. This week again we have an appointment every day and something going on each evening. It's crazy! It's all great stuff, but I really cherish my evenings with nothing to do! This week Izzy dances Wednesday night, Thursday night then has a dress rehearsal Saturday afternoon for her ballet recital. Next Thursday is the show, and then after the long weekend, we'll have 2 extra free nights a week (which will be really nice) when ballet ends. I WILL miss the exercise and keeping in shape and flexible, but I will enjoy my free evenings. I'll just have to bike more, or learn to jog. I've always wanted to become a runner.

I'm also awaiting two births, so those clients are always in the back of my mind as I make plans and go about my busy weeks. I wonder when those days full of plans will be altered by a last minute page from a client in labour. So far I've been very pleased with how relaxed I've been waiting for these clients to deliver, so that's been a great relief. I've got a couple more babysitters on my list that I can call which really takes a load off my mind. The stressful part is that both births will be taking place at a hospital that is very hot/cold regarding doula support. Half the nurses are very warm and welcoming to doulas, the other half resent us and don't want us there. I'm praying that these two births will go smoothly and that we'll get those great nurses that don't get all defensive when a woman brings her doula along. We just wait and see.

I'm starting to get excited about the upcoming summer, camping trips, days at the beach, hikes etc. We just have to get through the next 2 months and then we'll have some free time ( I hope :)

Hope you're all doing well.

Here are some pictures from our hike last weekend in Hanover with my mom and dad:
