A "Hairy" Week :)

Yup, it is one of those! On Thursday night it's not only the Season Finale of my favourite show on T.V., it's also Izzy's ballet recital (so guess which one I'll be watching at 8pm :) Izzy's costume is absolutely beautiful this year. It's a lime green colour with a velvet top, off-white roses at her waist and a gorgeous long tutu in several layers of green and white topped with rhinestones. Oh yes, it's fit for a princess. Will post pictures on Friday of her all dolled up. I can't wait, it's the first year where I'll get to sit in the audience and watch the show. Normally I'm in it, but I couldn't convince Jenn to get into a tutu and dance on stage (next year I'll be able to do it ;) Izzy's dance will likely only be two or three minutes long but I'll certainly be the proud Mama sitting in the audience! I'm so glad she's sticking with ballet (so far), even though it's not a whole lot of 'fun' because it is hard work.

The Friday she is attending a birthday party and then her, Lyric and I will head to my moms for the all-girl weekend as the boys go camping in Tobermory (they'd better take lots of warm clothes!). We all have a blast this weekend, Mennonite style, as we segregate the sexes and have some good times together. I'm really looking forward to it! Hopefully I"ll get lots of pictures (although I just realized Joel and I will have to fight over the camera...guess one of us will have to use the good-old 24 mm one).

In other news, my BIG almost-seven year old sweetie lost her TOOTH last night!! Yes, it finally fell out after Daddy was brushing her teeth (with extra vigor over the loose one). When she spit into the sink Joel her the sound of it hitting the sink. We all screamed and cheered as she yelled excitedly. She didn't even care that it bled enough that Joel had to hold pressure against it to stop it from bleeding (it's good to have a paramedic in the family :) Seriously, I stay away from the loose teeth. I still have nightmares of my mom pulling out my teeth as I screamed in protest (she really wasn't mean, they were hanging out of my mouth as my grown-up teeth were growing in behind). I also have just in recent years stopped having nightmares of losing all my teeth, so the kids know that I will never be the parent that wants to pull out the loose teeth!

It's been a good week. Today I was able to visit with my dear friend Angelle that I've barely seen since last fall. It was so great to re-connect with her. I also got to know a new friend a little better when we had lunch together and talked about some business (thanks Amy- it was great!). It's wonderful to have friends. Since the blog about a 4 am friend I've also discovered that I have a FEW friends that tell me I can call them anytime when I need to talk. I've a very blessed girl.

Well, I think that's about all the news on this end. I plan to write lots more about my Fresh- Brewed Life adventure that has now come to an end. I'm really going to miss heart to heart, but I will like to have one less trip to Zurich a week.

Here's to another 'hairy' week. I'm hanging on and ready for some fun!

Mel
