We have this fabulous trail on the way out of Clinton that we love to hike as a family. It's a short loop, but it's great because we get to walk through some evergreen
forests, throw rocks in the river, stand on the bridge over the river, and see all sorts of cool stuff along the way. Last Saturday we had a gorgeous day to spend as a family so we spent part of the morning there. Little did we know we would be SWARMED by
mosquitoes while we were hiking. It was crazy, I'd never seen so many
mosquitoes in the same place at the same time in my life. They followed us the whole way around the loop, we walked as quickly as we could to try to get away from them. Poor Lyric had a bit on each thigh that swelled up so bad Sunday morning I was really scared! It was like there was a golf ball under each one...hard, red and it even felt really warm. My mother-in-law assured me that it was normal and that they were probably black fly bites...yikes.
We did have a lot of fun at the bridge. For some reason the
mosquitoes didn't hang around there, so we spent some time there after the trail. Here are some pics:

After eight years, we're still madly in love !!

Besides getting eaten alive, it was a really fun morning :) Made me look forward to those camping trips that are coming up :) Can't wait!
