Last weekend as I mentioned, the Siebert's and Nafziger's had their usual May long weekend fun. The guys headed up to Tobermory to camp and the girls stayed nice and warm at my mom's in Hanover. We all had a blast!
I can't speak for the boy's weekend, but the girls sure had fun. We had laughter, tears, tonnes of food, and a little Grey's Anatomy on the side. Who could ask for a better weekend?
I had good intentions of taking logs of pictures, but unfortunately only got pictures of the babies in the family. Nathan and Ellie (our latest and last additions to the Siebert side). Here's some pics of the cuties.
Nathan was actually born upstairs in Izzy's bedroom, and I had the honour of being Kathy's doula, which was pretty cool! Not very often you have your own nephew born in your house :) So now, we've had 2 babies born in this home (but possibly one or two over a hundred years ago as well??), and another labour of a dear friend in my upstairs tub as well. Friends joke with me that I should start a birthing centre here :) Who knows... (hehehe).
I'm waiting for client #2 to deliver, who is due this Friday. I'm also going to be speaking at prenatal classes this Thursday night at the health unit. Strangely enough I'm actually excited to be speaking this time. I get to cover not only what I do as a doula, but share some tips and tricks and techniques for labour with them, so hopefully it goes well. I think being more prepared with notes this time will help. I'm excited about the birthing stuff going on. I also have another potential client for November now.
Other than that, things around here are pretty much normal. The kids are pretty tired after about 5 late nights in a row. Joel and I got a lot done around the house today, and Joel tilled my garden so I finally got it planted (hooray!!). The kids helped which was actually fun. I got really excited thinking about walking out my back door and picking fresh produce out of my garden for dinner. I LOVE vegetable gardens. And nothing beats fresh tomatoes off the vine. I'm also hoping to get my butt in gear and pick strawberries this year since it's been years since I've had jam in my freezer!
So that's what's up in our neck of the woods. Hopefully everyone had a great weekend.
Mel
