A Day at the Beach

Well, I was brave and I packed the kids up today and took all three to the beach for a picnic and to play for the afternoon. We had a blast. The weather was absolutely perfect, not too hot, not too cold, not too breezy by the lake.

We started out on the new playground at the beach, the kids had fun on that. Then we had our sandwiches at a picnic table nearby. Then we played with some new sand toys on the beach and the kids splashed around in the water. Izzy was pretty mad that I didn't let her go all the way in, but by that time it was getting late and I knew Lyric needed a nap.

It was a wonderful time and I really enjoyed playing in the sand. The luxurious warm sand running through my fingers. I had fun mixing sand soup and building a castle of my own. It was a nice relaxing time. The only thing missing was my Joelie. I was wishing he would drive by in his Ambulance (sometimes they like to cruise around down there). As I told the kids we'll have many more opportunities to spend days at the beach with Daddy.

Here are some pics of my flowers too. I've really fallen in love with plants and flowers lately. I find myself so drawn to them. Unfortunately my hibiscus is starting to lose leaves and has no more buds on it...not sure what's going on there. I found an awesome tropical tree I want to buy for our house at the Home Depot last night. Next time I have $60 I don't know what to do with I'm going to get one.

My peonies

Our date last night was awesome. We went to Eddingtons for dinner (a fancy and EXPENSIVE restaurant in Exeter). Then did some shopping in London, then picked up a Dairy Queen on the way to the Drive In where we watched Shrek the Third and Ocean's Thirteen. It was a tonne of fun. Was so grateful for my father in law who watched the kids and slept over (we weren't home until 2 am!!).

Good times,

Mel
