Track & Field

I haven't blogged these pics yet, so I'm doing it now (a week and a half late). Izzy had her track and field event at school and she had a lot of fun! She didn't place, but she had fun and LOVED her purple "Participant" ribbon :) I was super impressed with how the principal had all the kids fired up and cheering even for the kids who were in very last place. The whole school was right into it. We're going to miss our dear principal so much!

Joel was so proud of Izzy and encouraged her despite her not coming home with any big ribbons. He said she's so much shorter than her classmates that she'd have to run a lot faster just to keep up with them and their long legs :) The sweetest part was that 2 of her friends from class (Diedre and Allison) came up with the idea to make Izzy a homemade first place ribbon. I couldn't believe it, the next day she came home with a first place ribbon pinned to her shirt that said "Love Diedre". I told her that that was MUCH better than a real first place ribbon because it showed just how much her friends like her. I'm planning to do a scrapbook page about the day with the homemade ribbon. I was just so touched!
