Saturday was my cousin Josh's wedding. It was like a fairy tale...truly. There were over 500 people at the wedding and well over 300 people at the reception. They both looked incredible, the singers in the wedding were professionals (if they don't have a CD they SHOULD!). I literally had goosebumps listening to the two sing a duet (they were a husband and wife team). There were 10 attendants on each side (so 20 people standing up for them). It was unbelievable. They shared the story of their engagement and it was just as much a fairytale story. My cousin took her to the escarpment in Hamilton where they would often go and he told her to turn around and there strung in mini lights on the mountain side was "will you marry me". When she said yes, immediately fireworks started from below. Can you imagine?! It was quite the story.
We were so blessed to have our siblings looking after our kids so that we could spend the day (and night) without having to worry about them. I'm sure the house was a complete zoo with 7 children under 6 years old. I was amazed by how clean my house was when I got home (thanks so much guys...that was such a blessing!!!!).
Unfortunately, we had stayed up super late Thursday night (1:30 am) and up until after midnight on Friday night so needless to say by the time we left the reception at 9:50 pm on Saturday we were wiped out!! We were so thrilled that we didn't have to drive over two hours home at this point. Here's a picture of Joel and his bloodshot exhausted eyes: Mine were exactly the same and I had a headache from all the perfume in the church. Don't get me wrong, we still had a great time!
It was great to see my big brother Mike at the wedding with his daughter Rae-Ann. Unfortunately my sister-in-law Karie wasn't able to get a sitter for their 4 kids so she stayed home and let Rae go in her place. You could tell that Rae Ann was absolutely beaming with pride being her Daddy's 'date' and she looked so cute in her fancy dress. Mike...you'll never understand how much that probably meant to her. I can still think back to the times when I had Dad all to myself...sharing moments at the Nutcracker, or Taco Bell (which my mom hated but we loved). Those moments are a treasure to girls. You are an amazing father and Rae is blessed to have you. Love you bro.

We got baby trees as a wedding favour which I thought was so cool. I wish I would have thought of that for my own wedding. What an awesome idea to give people a tree that they can plant at their homes to remember Josh and Shanna when they see it.
It was a great weekend. I will talk more about hanging out with my aunts and uncles in a later post.
