All to herself

This is the other side of the story of Obi's first day of school. The first day that Lyric and I were alone together in her lifetime. She had mommy all to herself and did she ever enjoy that!! I have to say, it was wonderful to spend the day alone with her as well.

My Lickey is quite the little clown. She absolutely LOVES to ham it up for the camera. In these pictures, we were sitting on the stairs taking pics of us being silly. "'Gain, 'Gain" she would say after I snapped each picture. Then of course "uh seee, uh seee" because she would want to see each picture immediately after I took it. We must have sat there for 10 minutes just snapping away. Digital cameras are so much fun because you can just erase the bad pictures and keep the ones you love. I don't know why we were so reluctant to get one, now I'm so grateful. I also love that we can take still pictures and video with the same camera. I used to struggle when I was at a special event with whether to shoot video or take still pics. Now I can do both if I want with the same camera.

The first picture is Lyric being silly balancing on the stairs. I look to her future and wonder if she'll be in some sort of job where she's in the spotlight. For now she sure gravitates to it. She loves to make people laugh. The more people laugh, the more she hams it up. She's so much fun. I see a lot of her daddy in her (Obi as well). With the boisterous, fun-loving, attention-loving qualities. Izzy is a lot more like me. A little more reserved, but she still knows how to have fun, and she has the most infectious laugh...it's so beautiful! It's so cool to see how kids from the same parents can be so different from eachother. I feel blessed that we were able to have three wonderful children.

I look forward to more days when Lyric and I get to hang out together. I would actually really like to have one-on-one time with each of the kids. I've heard of other parents doing this and I love the idea. That's something I really haven't done, other than the times when I play individually with one of them (which also isn't often). I think it would be great to have a night to take one of the kids out at a time and just give them my undivided attention (because at home my attention is so scattered with the to-do lists).

I'm also grateful that I can stay at home with my kids. I don't know how my friends do it that have full time jobs and keep a household running (there's only two that I can think of off the top of my head...you're amazing Jenn and Colleen B.). I'm not sure I could ever manage it (and stay sane and happy!).

Hi there, I love the pictures! Lyric looks so grown up with her hair cut! She has lost that "toddler" look, and her face looks fatter now. Oh well, she is growing up too fast! When I see these pictures, I miss you guys so much!!! Love you...Mom
