I wish this was a picture of me :) Unfortunately, it's Karen Kain, Canada's legendary Ballerina. I was fortunate to attend her final show at the Hummingbird Centre in Toronto before she retired. I guess that must have been around 8-10 years ago. She was incredible.
Tonight I'm headed back to the barre. I can't wait to get back in shape. The first lesson is always a tough one, but I actually look forward to the burn I get the day after a class. Helps you to know you're actually working the muscles. The best part about class tonight is that one of my dearest friends will be there as well (thanks Jenn!!). I have to say I've always dreamed of having someone else to take dance with. You know, someone that can relate to my pain, elation, and someone to drive up to Goderich with once a week. It's going to be a great year.
Izzy is in a more advanced class this year which will be super too. Her class seems to be a lot smaller this year so I'm hoping she learns even more. If we could just get her to take her thumb out of her mouth long enough to do the proper arm positions we'd be all set (but that's a topic for another post). It thrills me that my baby girl enjoys one of my passions. I know Lyric will want to dance, she tries on her sisters shoes and spins in circles. Of course she wants to do everything her big sister does :)
Here's to a great year of getting fit and flexible again,
Mel

Astrid took ballet last year and is totally in love with it. Muirgen can't wait to start classes, too. I'm holding off putting them back in until January as they're already doing swimming lessons and music classes this fall, but I know it's ballet they look forward to more than anything.
Cool, I didn't realize Astrid took it as well! I hear you on doing one activity at a time. Gets to be too busy (and expensive) otherwise. That's our rule as well.

You are such an intriguing woman, Mel. I'm sure I don't have any other women friends who love both graceful dancing AND... hockey. I just love that about you.
And I'm so enjoying reading your latests posts today!

Oops! Well, now you're a doubly intriguing woman!
