Well, looks like 2007 is going to be yet another year of injuries for my poor kids. Today after a walk outside (enjoying the SUN), I had run into the house to drop off some groceries and Joel was playing with the kids outside in the backyard. As I was walking back out of the house I saw Lyric, who had been standing in her stroller, facing backwards, tip the stroller over and go crashing onto the cement ONTO HER TOP TEETH. ARGH. She screamed and was leaking blood from her upper lip. Poor thing ripped the flap of skin that holds the underside of her upper lip to her gums, split her top lip wide open and loosened a tooth. I called the dentist who wanted to look her over. He took x-rays and said that the one tooth likely had nerve damage and may die. YIPPEE, I think to myself, then Lyric and Obi will be twins with a dead front tooth. Man, I don't know what it is with our kids and their teeth. It could have been worse though, she didn't need any stitches or glue, so that's good. She was pretty brave too, she stopped crying and let me try to stop the bleeding and she was brave at the dentist (but didn't like it when the chair laid down). Here she is showing off her wound:

On a happier note, I was able to enjoy my Christmas gift from Joel this afternoon...a new beautiful teacup and a tea ball with loose tea leaves. It is Rooibos Masala Chai, a very nice tea :) I was sure to savour it and enjoy the smell, taste and how nice it looked in my new cup. Living in the moment is fun!

My lucky bamboo, which I've aptly named "Lucky" has a new home. I discovered that the pretty box it was in was getting wet, there must have been a hole in the plastic, so I transplanted Lucky into a nice candleholder that I think I got for a wedding gift (but never used). I was thrilled to see that he fit perfectly. I like to be able to see how much water he's got too, so the new home is perfect. Thanks again Kim :)

So, today had it's ups and downs. I'm doing pretty well at continuing to wait for my little babes to enter the world. Client #1 is now 10 days overdue, Client #2 is due a week from tomorrow. I'm anxious to get back into doula-ing. It's going to be awesome!

Ouch! Poor little Lyric. Tell her Grandpa was pretty upset when he heard about this accident! Glad to hear it wasn't worse.
