Wow, it's been forever

First of all, I'm sorry to all of my faithful readers that I haven't written in almost one whole week. I do have good reasons for this, which I will endeavor to share this evening. I have so much to write about that I'm not quite sure how I'll get it all out (it may take a little while).

Anyway, getting into it. Saturday Jan. 13, 2007:

Saturday was Obi's birthday and our Nafziger Christmas dinner in Hawkseville. Obi turned five, I can hardly believe it. I was wondering if I would be attending a birth the same day in the same hospital room that I birthed in 5 years earlier (there are only 2 birthing rooms in Clinton). But baby decided to hang on longer...more on that later.

Pics from Obi's birthday morning:

Here's Obi with his very own arcade game...Spiderman. It's identical to Donkey Kong (a great game from my generation :) He's really enjoying it!

Here are the sisters all dressed up for Christmas dinner...I love this picture! They had just finished their ballet...dancing to the 12 Dancing Princess movie.

After Obi opened presents and went to his skating lesson we headed to the Christmas dinner. We actually reserve an entire restaurant (a little homey restaurant with awesome Mennonite cooking) for Nafziger Christmas. We got to spend the whole afternoon there after filling up on some amazing food. It was a blast to see the cousins, my family, and Grandma again.

Here are some favourite pics from the event:
Here's my beloved Grandma making her legendary punch with the huge Sprite ice cube. I have so many good memories surrounding this punch. Granny, you're the greatest!

Here's a picture of Grandma with all her Great-Grandchildren. She's done pretty well considering she only had 2 sons herself. Another grandbaby is due in April :) As you can see, a decent picture with this many young kids is quite a challenge!!

Here's a pic of my dear cousin Rachel that I mentioned in my last blog (and the newest grandbaby in her tummy:) and her hubby Jason (Joel's old neighbour). It was great to talk birth-biz with her. Love ya Rach.

I love this picture. This is my oldest nephew Aaron (my brother's son) blushing because we were all teasing him for dancing with a girl at his Grade 7 dance a little while back. We had a real blast making him blush, it was hilarious. He's such a sweetie!

It was a very busy day. After the dinner (and the afternoon at the restaurant) we were able to visit my brother and sister in law and finally see their new house (since we were only 15 minutes away). We hardly ever make it that direction any more, so it was nice to visit while we were there. We had a blast visiting with them. I wish my family all lived closer, I would love to see more of them!

Then on the way home we stopped in Wingham for supper and had a lava cake for Obi's birthday. It was a long, but wonderful day!

Thanks for sharing the pics, Mel. I wish I hadn't forgotten my camera back in Kingston!
