Well, Lickey ended up getting the chicken pox after all, from her dear cousin Jake (seen dancing in circles with her on Easter weekend blog entry). Apparently he's pretty proud of himself for making not only his cousin Lyric sick, but also his THREE siblings. Yes, my poor sister-in-law Karie and brother Mike have had four children with chicken pox in the same home at the same time (can you imagine?). I hope you guys are able to take that vacation after this is all over!
Lyric has been pretty good with it, I rarely see her scratching, and she's still sleeping well. She had a slight fever the one evening, but I haven't had to medicate her. These pictures were taken Wednesday evening, I'll put some updated ones on later today if I have a chance...she's gotten lots more. I just hope she doesn't get too many on her face, I still have scars on my face from chicken pox.
We're headed up to Hanover for the weekend since Joel's working today and Sunday 24 hours and I can't take Lyric to church with chicken pox. I'm so thankful I have somewhere I can go with the kids so I won't be stuck all weekend in the house.
Now we're just hoping Grandpa Dave doesn't pick them up from Lyric. He's apparently never had the chicken pox, and I'd hate to see him get them now. We wonder if he did have them as a kid and just doesn't remember because he never got them when all three of his kids had them, so it seems strange.
Anyway, I'm glad she got them. At least we get them over with and I won't have to get her the immunization!

ahhh, poor Lyric...
Darcy never got the chicken pox either, the other two had them at the same time while I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with Darcy, it was tough
Praying for you Mel, that you can manage
I wish you lived closer...I'd love my kids to get it now and get it over with!
Good luck coping!
