Craft Retreat

I had a blast relaxing this weekend with a group of 8 other ladies. It was a really fun bunch. We chatted about all sorts of things: clothes shopping, poop, fundraising, drug dealers of Zurich and Clinton, how to kill unwanted animals in your yard (never realized that woodchucks could die of a heart attack...too funny Jenn :), breastfeeding, and anything else that popped up. We had some good laughs.

Sharla sharing some great stories

Jenn sharing some great stories

Kim and Cara getting to know each other better

Dorothy putting Patti and Tracy to sleep (we were all a little zonked by day 2 after our late-night partying :) I know she had good stories too!!

Friday night we all got there and got right down to business with the crafting. Dorothy and Patti (mother and daughter) were making a quilt, Jenn was making sea glass jewelery, Tracy, Sharla, Kim and I were scrapbooking and Cara was making cards. Claudia spent the weekend making a beautiful Thomas Kincade puzzle. i think it was 1000 pieces, with Jenn's help they managed to finish the entire thing..you should have heard them cheer.

We all took at least one trip to the beach, we were blessed with such an incredible weekend. Saturday morning I laid on a blanket outside of our building and just listened. I probably heard 8 different types of birds singing. It was so luxurious to just lay there, undisturbed and baske in the sun. A treasure.

Joel and the kids had a great time while I was gone. Joel kept them busy and entertained (such an awesome dad!!).

Oh yeah, and we did have one man in the crowd...Pastor Simon: He was preachin all weekend. What a sweet little boy. I think he enjoyed having all that female attention to himself, we barely heard a sad sound from his sweet little lips. He just sat in his carseat while we crafted and talked, and talked, and talked. So adorable. Here he is, mid-sermon-

Fun times were had by all. Thanks to my family for letting me go, and for all the ladies that were there...you made it a lot of fun!
