Mother-Son Time

Last Tuesday, Obi and I had a rare occasion to spend the afternoon together...just the two of us! I wanted to make it special, so we picked up some pizza and headed for the Lion's Park just on the edge of town. We often go there for family hikes because they have a nice trail that isn't too long, and it seems like you're far away from town because there is a little river and lots of trees. Here are some pics of our big 'date':

Here's Obi enjoying his chocolate milk :) Cutie Pie

And this is my son playing the 'air guitar'. He must have
picked that one up at school...hilarious!!

I LOVE this picture. These are the moments I will remember
forever, especially when he's older and doesn't hold my hand
anymore (sigh :( )

We had super weather that day and we both really enjoyed our time alone. Now I just have to figure out a way to have an afternoon alone with Izzy. She often misses out on these special times now that she's in school full time.

We had a great weekend in Hanover, will share some pictures soon. Obi had another awesome experience when his Grandpa took him "deer watching" to a tree stand at 5:30 in the morning on Sunday. After being quiet for 30 minutes and not seeing any deer (which must have been murder for Obi), they were rewarded by seeing SEVEN deer. Sounded like they BOTH had a load of fun. Obi is pretty lucky to have a Grandpa that is willing to get up at 5:15 on a Sunday morning after working hard all week, just to take him deer 'hunting' :) Thanks Dad!

ohh MEl, what a handsome date you had, he is such a cutie!!
It is very important to spend one on one time with each of our kids, as my kids have gotten older I've let that part slide, thanks for the reminder
