A White Easter

Well, I guess since we didn't have a white Christmas, we're going to have a white Easter instead. Who could have imagined that the weather driving for Easter dinner would be far more treacherous than the weather heading out for Christmas dinner. Not me. It certainly has been a mixed bag of weather these past couple of weeks.

Here are the kids playing in the snow on March 19th

Then one week later, Joel is outside playing baseball with Obi in a tee shirt...in the exact place where the snowman stood only 7 days earlier.

And today I look out my window to see 5 cm of snow atop my picnic table on the back deck, where I sat only 10 days ago, basking in the HOT sun. So strange!!

Today is my mom's birthday (Happy B-Day to my dear mom...one of my best friends). I wondered if she'd ever remembered snowstorms on her birthday before. It's got to be some kind of record I figure. I had to dig out all the snow pants and hats and mitts. Now we're not sure what kind of drive we'll have tomorrow up to mom and dad's. Apparently we're getting 5-15 cm of snow overnight and flurries tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.

I remember as a child it almost always rained on Good Friday. I was convinced that this was because Jesus was crucified that day. Then almost every year I would wake up Easter Sunday to a gorgeous sunny day. I remember some years it wouldn't be sunny on the Sunday and I just couldn't understand why :) Now I wonder how I'll feel when I wake up Sunday morning to ??cm of snow and flurries.

That's messed up man,

Mel
